This policy is guided by the principles expressed in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights as we are committed to respecting all internationally recognized human rights standards. Our respect for these principles is demonstrated by our ongoing support for diversity and inclusion in our workforce, as reflected in our Code of Business Conduct. Our Code of Business Conduct specifically provides, “The Company is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all Employees and prospective Employees in every facet of its operations. All employment-related decisions, including hiring, employee treatment, training, compensation, promotion, transfer, benefits and disciplinary action, are made solely on the basis of the individual’s job qualifications and performance, and without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability, age, genetic information, citizenship status, pregnancy, gender identity or expression, affectional or sexual orientation, atypical cellular or blood trait, marital status, veteran status, membership in the armed services, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.” This is our pledge to actively promote these principles in our wholly owned companies and in our business dealings.

We implement this Human Rights Policy by requiring each year that all employees throughout the control group, read, understand and adhere to the provisions contained in the Code of Conduct. In addition, these provisions are reinforced through online training that all employees and directors are required to complete.

These values are also reflected in our efforts to improve the lives and well-being of the individuals in the communities where we live and work. We create this impact through company-sponsored volunteer activities as well as corporate giving programs. See “Community Impact” for more information.
